Study in Germany - Steps for Bachelors

ROUTES TO PURSUE BACHELORS

German system follows 12+1 system of education so one needs to compensate for additional one year after their Class 12th in India. To pursue bachelors in Germany one needs to choose 1 of the following 3 routes :-

1. Studienkolleg* - These are pre-university schools in Germany which offer 1 year of course before you get into any university. This course prepares the student for their bachelors program. To get into one, the student needs to first get a conditional offer letter from their university of choice and then write the aufnahmeprüfung exam (this exam is conducted as an entrance for Studienkolleg).

2. 1 year bachelors in India - If the student wants to avoid the Studienkolleg, they can pursue 1 year of their bachelors in India from anabin.de certified university and directly get admitted into a bachelors program after this.

3. JEE Advanced - This route is valid for STEM students, if one qualifies JEEAdvanced then they can directly skip option 1 and option 2 and get straight into a German university,

** The Student needs to write the FSP Exam after the completion of their Studienkolleg (consider the FSP as the Germany equivalent of JEE Mains Exam). The FSP exam is the entrance exam for most German Public Universities
Additional Requirements to get into German Universities :-

1. B2 level German Language Proficiency - It is advised to be learnt before arriving in Germany

2. APS Certificate - Certificate required by most universities to prove the authenticity of the documents
