- Have a completed undergraduate degree (BS or BA) from an accredited institution
- Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Have considerable course work in physics
- Have sufficient mathematical background (at least 2 semesters beyond calculus)
